intro

I started couponing last April. In the beginning, I was buying 1 paper a week and saving a decent amount of money but I didn't really know what I was doing.

Memorial Day weekend, I saw the CVS ad. I'd never really shopped at CVS for anything more than prescriptions but I decided to give it a try. There were several items that were free after Extra Bucks. I had been holding onto a $25 gift card that I got for free with a prescription almost a year before, so I figured it couldn't hurt to try. I got a bunch of stuff for very little money (all on the gift card) and I've been rolling Extra Bucks ever since.

Last year I saved more than $6500 (including sales and coupons), I don't have the exact numbers. I saved more than $4000 at CVS, about $1600 at Food Lion, and I had over $1000 in Kroger Plus savings (Kroger doesn't track coupon savings on receipts).

I decided to start this blog because I wanted to make myself track my savings for 2010. I only started keeping track in November of last year and I really can't wait to see how much I save this year.
